INEC REC tells political parties to educate their members to right things

Cross River Building structure Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr Emmanuel Hart has urged chairmen at political parties in the state to coach their members to do the right steps during elections.

Hart gave the advice with just one meeting on the forthcoming Northern Senatorial District by-election in the state meanwhile with the heads of political parties with the auspices of the Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC) on Monday in Calabar.

He said governmental parties should educate their members and the electorate to be law inveterate and health conscious during the by-election.

According to him, you are its leaders of the political parties documented in state, I crave your indulgence to educate your members to do ideal thing.

“Forget about the issues associated with electioneering in the nation like vote buying, ballot box snatching and others plus do the right thing by departing for the election, vote and return home.

“On the issue of COVID-19, we have visited the State Ministry towards Health to partner with us.

”We even have a handbook, which educates the electorate the way protect themselves during the election, therefore we are prepared to hold a safe will.

“Although the peroid for the by-election has not been announced, right away it is announced, everyone will know a large number of we will disseminate it even at the grassroots, ” he said.

The REC, who deemed office in the state on May 15, added that he had paid every courtesy visit to Gov. Ben Ayade, the Ministries of Information, Education combined with Health, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and security agencies when relevant agencies necessary for a smooth political election.

Responding, Anthony Bisong, Chairman of the Young Progressive Team (YPP), who spoke on behalf of 1 political parties, thanked the REC for the courtesy and advocacy visitations.

Bisong added all oif that the political parties in the believe under the umbrella of IPAC were originally in total support of his governing administration and would ensure that his operate the state was fruitful.
